What is the maximum load our bike can carry?

The standard version AMiiVA bike is designed for riders up to 120kgs weight and 190cm height. The standard seat post is adequate for those with an inside leg measurement of 90cms. The adjustable front stem adds even more possibilities to the range of settings.

Aren't small wheels inefficient and less comfortable than large wheels? Why a full suspension?

We put 20“ wheels on our bikes primarily for the obvious reason — they offer the best compromise between compactness when folded, and performance on the road. 16» wheel folding bikes offer a smaller gear ratio range and lower distances of travel.
However, although smaller wheels offer superior acceleration and maneuverability, they usually don't handle potholes and other unforgiving terrain very well; but with a suspended frame AMiiVA portable bikes are very comfortable on pitted streets and safe to ride over broken chunks of pavement, on dirt roads or across a groove. AMiiVA rear triangle suspension is not a soft tail but a real suspension fitted with an adjustable air or coil shock.

Why do you use hub gears?

Hub gears are generally the solution used for Dutch bikes: The gears and the brake pad are protected inside the hub housing, making them working efficiently regardless of dirt or rain. Hub gears are the best solution for a folding bike. Multi-geared derailleur on a folding bike are too vulnerable to potential damage, and difficult to keep in the factory settings. Our hub gears gearing system offers an evenly stepped gear range that is built to last, upon which the rider can rely.

Why do your bikes use aluminium and carbon?

Aluminium, carbon fiber and other composite materials have played a major role in creating fuel efficient planes and cars. Those materials have proven their lightness and robustness in many consumer products designed to tolerate adverse environments. Our bike frames are made of high grade aluminium alloy, the fork is available in carbon, and the folding pedals are built using a fiberglass/nylon composite material.
